Local Search Ally
Local Search Ally is a local SEO monitoring dashboard for home service contractors — plumbers, electricians, HVAC technicians, roofers, and landscapers — in the Northwest Arkansas region. It is operated by Chad Smith, a solo local SEO strategist based in Siloam Springs, AR.
What this app does
Local Search Ally gives home service contractors a clear picture of how their business appears in Google local search. The dashboard provides:
- Audit tool — scans a business's Google Business Profile, website, citations, reviews, and AI search visibility, and reports the findings.
- Geo-grid rank tracking — a visual map showing where a business ranks in Google Maps across a grid of surrounding locations.
- Citation scanner — checks whether the business name, address, and phone number are consistent across major online directories.
- Review monitoring — tracks review volume, recency, and response rate over time.
- Google Business Profile connection — connects a Google Business Profile to view listing completeness, categories, posting activity, and profile health inside the dashboard.
Google Business Profile access
A Google Business Profile account may be connected to Local Search Ally by the Google account that owns or manages the listing. This connection uses Google OAuth 2.0 and requests the following scope:
What data is accessed
The business.manage scope allows Local Search Ally to read the following information from your Google Business Profile:
- Business name, address, phone number, and website URL
- Business categories and service attributes
- Business hours and special hours
- Profile photos
- Posts and updates published to your profile
- Customer reviews and your responses to them
- Profile completeness status
How this data is used
- To display your GBP profile information inside your Local Search Ally dashboard
- To assess profile completeness and flag missing or outdated information
- To show posting frequency, review metrics, and photo activity
- To generate local SEO recommendations specific to your listing
What this app does not do
- It does not publish posts, photos, or updates to your Google Business Profile without your explicit action.
- It does not modify your business listing, categories, hours, or address.
- It does not respond to reviews on your behalf.
- It does not share your Google Business Profile data with third parties or use it for advertising.
- It does not retain your GBP data after you disconnect your account.
Revoking access
You can disconnect your Google Business Profile from Local Search Ally at any time from your dashboard settings. You can also revoke access directly through your Google Account permissions page. Revoking access immediately stops Local Search Ally from reading your GBP data.

The privacy policy includes a dedicated section on Google API data and how information obtained through the Google Business Profile connection is handled.
