Privacy Policy

1. What I collect

When you use Local Search Ally, I collect the following:

• Business information — name, address, trade, and website URL you enter when running an audit.
• Contact information — your email address, collected when you save your audit or create an account.
• Audit results — data generated by the audit tool, including Google Business Profile signals, citation status, on-page SEO findings, review metrics, and AI visibility scan results.
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, and time on site, collected via Google Analytics.
• Payment information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed directly by PayPal. I never see or store your credit card number.

2. How I use your information

• To run your audit and display results in the dashboard.
• To send you your audit report and follow-up emails if you opt in.
• To provide access to the Pro dashboard and its tools.
• To send automated scan alerts (such as weekly geo-grid ranking updates) to Pro subscribers.
• To improve the service based on how people use it.
• To respond to questions or support requests you send directly.

I don't sell your information. I don't rent it. I don't use it for advertising.

3. Third-party services

Running this service requires a few third-party tools. Each one handles data according to its own privacy policy:

• Supabase — database and authentication. Your account credentials and audit data are stored here.
• Resend — transactional email. Used to send audit reports, magic links, and Pro scan alerts.
• DataForSEO — SERP and local search data. Your business name and location are sent to their API to retrieve ranking data.
• Anthropic — AI queries. Your business name, trade, and city are sent to Claude to check AI search visibility.
• PayPal — subscription billing. Handles all payment processing for Pro plans.
• Google — PageSpeed Insights and Maps APIs, used for technical SEO and geo-grid ranking checks.
• Google Analytics — site usage tracking. You can opt out via browser extensions.

4. Google API data

Pro subscribers may connect their Google Business Profile to Local Search Ally via Google OAuth 2.0. This connection requests the business.manage scope, which provides read access to your Google Business Profile listing data.

What is accessed: Business name, address, phone number, website, hours, categories, photos, posts, customer reviews, and profile completeness data.

How it is used: Exclusively to display your listing information inside your Local Search Ally dashboard, assess profile health, and generate local SEO recommendations. This data is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising purposes.

What it does not do: Local Search Ally does not publish posts, modify your listing, respond to reviews, or make any changes to your Google Business Profile without your explicit action.

Retention: Google Business Profile data is retained only while your account is active and your Google connection is authorized. Disconnecting your Google account from the dashboard — or revoking access at myaccount.google.com/permissions — immediately stops data access. Data is deleted within 30 days of disconnection.

Local Search Ally's use of Google API data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Cookies

This site uses cookies for authentication (keeping you logged in) and analytics (Google Analytics). No advertising cookies are used. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this will prevent you from staying logged in to the dashboard.

6. Data retention

Audit data and account information are retained as long as your account is active. If you cancel your account, I'll delete your data within 30 days upon request. Email me at chad@localsearchally.com to request deletion.

7. Your rights

You can request a copy of the data I hold about you, ask me to correct anything that's inaccurate, or ask me to delete your account and associated data. Email me directly and I'll handle it personally.
